Teen Leadership Events
Dear Friends and Family of the Watumull Childrens Fund,
We have had a busy few weeks! In one week, we were able to hold two Teen Leadership Challenge events and serve over 450 young Kenyans!
We are thankful for all our Kenyan leaders who make these events so special! Here are the teachers at Destiny School making hundreds of chapatis (flat bread) for the teenagers to eat.
We have amazing Kenyan speakers to address the teens. They talk to them frankly about puberty and how to overcome the problems poverty brings to them.
We are grateful for young Kenyans who volunteer to speak with the girls also, sharing how they have conquered obstacles to graduate and make a better future for themselves.
Here is self-defense demonstration and instruction we include for our girls at every workshop.
Our teenage girls leave this day encouraged, with reusable sanitary napkin kits, empowered to aim higher! The boys have their questions answered and take home a pair of new socks. All are fed well and cared for by our amazing team of Kenyan volunteers.
A special shout out to St. Mary’s Church and Carin Case who provided for one hundred of these girls to have supplies to stay in school. And to the rest of you who enable us to touch these deserving teens — we are so grateful!
XOXO,
SCOT + CHITRA
