Future Leaders of Kenya!

Dear Friends of Watumull Children’s Education,

Greetings from our happy teens at our first Teen Leadership Challenge (TLC) of 2024! We gathered 118 girls at Bethany Joy School for a day of learning about puberty and the changes it brings physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially. We have frank discussions about it all with whole group Kenyan speakers and small discussion breakout groups.

All the girls are given reusable sanitary napkin kits and new panties to manage their menses and be able to stay in school every day.

They are given valuable information about self-defense and how to avoid traffickers.

Then a hearty lunch is served! As the girls depart, 100 teen boys come to eat!

The boys are given pertinent information and encouraged to respect the girls in their midst. All kinds of questions are answered, and they leave with a pair of socks and a new sense of being an influence for change in their community.

Thank you, donors for supporting these gatherings. We have already seen more girls graduate from eighth grade since we started these TLCs. We will continue to reach these vulnerable teens with your generosity!! We so appreciate you teaming with us to raise up this new generation of Kenyan leaders!

Xoxo Chitra and Scot+
