First TLC of 2025!

Dear Friends of Watumull Children’s Fund,

Today our Jambo Blast comes to you from Holly Bell, our newest board member, who is in Nairobi right now checking out all of WFCF’s projects!  She is the sweet blond pictured at our Teen Leadership Challenge workshop held last Saturday.

“What an amazing event the TLC was!”, Holly writes.  “We left early in the morning to get out to Destiny school to see the teachers and staff setting up and preparing lunch for 200+ children who would be attending the event.

The morning was dedicated to the girls, and the afternoon to the boys ages 10-16 to help the children understand how their bodies work, understand the menstrual cycle, hormones, and how good choices can help break poverty in their lives.

Chitra and her team of Kenyan teachers provided a safe, fun, and interactive space to learn!  There were small groups for Q and A, and washable sanitary napkins for girls so they can attend school during their periods.

It is appalling to me that so many young women do not have the information about how their bodies work….and no money to purchase pads.

This team provides the information, along with their stories, in hopes of changing the trajectory of the lives of these young gals.”

So thank you, donors , for funding these TLC days.  Each girl that receives this kit ( only $10 USD!) has 3-4 years of school covered!  Let’s keep these precious girls in school!!!!

Xoxo Scot + and Chitra (and Holly , too!)
